The Advanced School of Journalism 2011-2012 Admission Caravan launches

On Monday, March 28, The Advanced School of Journalism launched its Admission Caravan for 2011-2012. The event aims to present the school and its study program to cities and universities throughout the country.

The Aleco Russo University in Balti was the first destination for the Caravan. More than 20 college students interested in postgraduate studies in journalism attended the event. During the discussion with Ludmila Bogheanu, academic coordinator of the School of Advanced Studies in Journalism (SASJ), students learned about the requirements for SASJ enrollment as well as the courses and the instructors at the school. The topic that gained the most interest was the career opportunities available to SASJ students after graduation.

The second presentation of the Admission Caravan was held on Wednesday, March 30, at the University "Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu in Cahul. The meeting was attended by graduates of both scientific and humanities departments as well as representatives of civil society and local administrations.

Comrat was the third destination for the Admission Caravan. The event took place Monday, April 4. The Admission Caravan continued until April 15 in Chisinau at the Centre for Independent Journalism. During this time, interested individuals were able to receive additional information about admission.

The Advanced School of Journalism is a project of the Center for Independent Journalism, launched in cooperation with the Missouri School of Journalism (USA) and the Journalists' Training Centre in Paris (France).

Every year 20 people from diverse backgrounds in higher education are accepted in to the school. The courses are taught by both well-known journalists from Moldova and foreign instructors.

The deadline for application submission was April 15. Twenty students will be admitted to the program, five of whom will receive scholarships. More details can be found at www.scoaladejurnalism.md.
