The fifth graduating class has begun studying at the School for Advanced Studies in Journalism

Sixteen young men and women, over the course of 10-month program will benefit from a thorough and professional preparation and will gain practical skills through intense editing.
This year, the SSAJ has admitted 3 young men and 14 young women. The average age of the students is 24.
Compared with previous years, the academic background of the students is more varied with subjects of study ranging from food technologies and philology, to law and political science. Three of the students have a degree in journalism.
Opening ceremonies for this year took place in the presence of the school’s faculty. In addition, a meeting between the new students and alumni of the past four graduating classes was organized so that former students could share their experience and give advice to the incoming students about how to overcome the difficulties that they might encounter during the course and how to navigate the job market once they graduate.
The School for Advanced Studies in Journalism was launched on September 4, 2006 to prepare journalists for working in mass media in Moldova. From 2006 until today, close to 60 journalists have graduated from this institution. The majority of whom have gone on to work in the field of media in Moldova at places like Radio Free Europe, TV Moldova 1, Pro TV, Jurnal TV, Publika TV, Ziarul de Garda, Tele Radio Gagauzia, AICI TV, ECOnomist among others.

The School for Advanced Studies in Journalism (License A nr.033236 MMII) is a project of the Center for Independent Journalism in Chisinau, created in participation with the Missouri School of Journalism in the USA, Center for Training and Retraining of Journalists in Paris, France and the organization Press Now in the Netherlands.
